Short Term Visa

Applicants wishing to travel to Spain for touristic purposes , visiting family members , business , medicine , airport transit, cultural purposes , training and study , sport , official visit for a period of maximum 90 days within every 190 days, may apply for Schengen visa type C which is short term visa.

For Residency permit, Schengen Visa Type D and studying is Spain for long term, applicants need to refer to the Spanish Consulate in Tehran.

Applicants need to prepare their documents, book their appointment, and visit the application center. It is not mandatory for applicants under 12 years old to be present however, appointments should be booked for them as well.

Visa fee and Service charge are as follows:-

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

Documents Required By Embassy of Spain, Tehran :

List and order of required documents

  1. Schengen Visa Application from, filled with blue pen or typed, signed last page, with 1 photo attached
    • Application form of children under 18 years old must be signed by both parents on the last page
    • Photograph should not be older than 3 months and should have a white background
  2. Print of appointment
  3. Invitation letter (if applicable)
    • Please provide original of invitation letter form police for applicants who are visiting their family members or friends, and copy of NIE or DNI card of inviting person. If you are not able to obtain the invitation letter, you may optionally present proof of accommodation (example: copy of property documents.
    • Sport teams must provide letters from the related federation, Olympic federation, committee and ministry of foreign affairs or ministry of sport and youth
    • Applicant must provide (if applicable) registry for any congress/exhibition/festival/matches and competitions, or medical documents or any other related documents along with proof of accommodation
  4. Hotel booking, Flight reservation, Travel insurance with full coverage details in English for Schengen , all 3 of them should have the same duration and should be in English.     For applicants who have a property in Spain , copy of Nota simple and copy of the property deed is necessary.
    Application date must be at least 21 days or maximum 190 days before travel date, and maximum travel duration must be 90 days in 190 days (please note some months are 31 days) Please note Spain must be your main destination or maximum stay in duration compared to other Schengen territory countries
  5. Evidence of the employment. Such as: letter from employer , salary slips ,business registration documents , medical/engineer/lawyer licenses , personnel decree , social security lists, work permit, contract with Spanish companies/ invoices/bill of lading or any other proof of business with Spain retirement salary slip or any other related documents to your employment or occupation or source of income. (translated to Spanish) . For university students , letter of enrollments form the university , translated to Spanish.
    If you are unemployed, you may present documents of the person who is covering your travel costs
  6. Proof of financial means, including bank letter(s) plus six months statement(s) (originally issued in English) both from same account, not older than 1 month ( Applicant may present multiple bank letter and statements ). For applicants who have an account in Spanish banks , bank letter and 6 months statements issues in English is necessary.
  7. Evidence of assets like property deed(s) (translated to Spanish)
  8. Spanish translation of all pages of the birth certificate (Shenasnameh) (Not applicable to non-Iranian)
  9. No Objection Letter signed before a notary public by both the parents (if the minor is applying with another person who is not the biological parents , or is applying with only one of the parents (even if the parent already has valid visa and is travelling with minor), from the parent who is not applying), allowing the minor to travel. Duration and exact destination along with name of the person travelling with minor as guardian must be mentioned. Passport copy of the parent(s) with their signature.
  10. Providing the Original old passports are mandatory. Until 1-Aug, you need to provide the copies of used and stamped pages of all the passports, new and olds, but Please note We do not accept any copies of the passports after 1- AUG-2023. And all the original passports must be delivered along with the rest of the documents.
  11. The valid original passport with at least 2 blank pages other than page 4 with validity for 3 months after returning to Iran. Foreigners may apply in case of valid residency permit of Iran
  12. Visa Fee and Service Fee in Euro
    • Important notice: Demand of bank deposit as a guarantee is not a requirement to get a visa from Embassy of Spain.
    • All documents in Farsi must be translated to Spanish, if the documents are originally issued in English, it will be acceptable. List of official Spanish translators can be downloaded from “Download Form” section.

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 3 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against a white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the center.

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same. Please note as per the instructions received from Embassy of Spain minimum processing time is 21 working days (It may delay depending on case to case).

All applications must be submitted at least 21 days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.

Processing time will start excluding the date of submission of application.
